Is Breast Lift Surgery Right For Me?
Denver, Colorado
If you are considering having a breast lift, you should schedule a consultation with experienced Denver breast surgeon, Dr. Nick Slenkovich to view before and after photos of breast lift patients with a similar body structure to yours. This will help you to determine if a breast lift surgery is the right choice for achieving your asthetic goals.
Why Undergo a Breast Lift?
Breast lift surgery is often the choice of women who want to restore their breasts to a more youthful appearance. Aging, gravity and previous pregnancies often contribute to the sagging of otherwise healthy and properly shaped breasts. Losing a significant amount of weight may also be a contributing factor.
Improving the shape of your breasts can help you to rediscover your self confidence and change the way others perceive you. It is important however, that you have realistic expectations and are not expecting a complete transformation.
Depending on your individual circumstances, you may only require a breast lift by itself. In other cases, a breast augmentation or a breast reduction may be necessary in conjunction with the breast lift.
What If I Plan to Have Children?
If you are considering a breast lift, but you are also planning to have children in the future, it may be in your best interests to postpone your breast lift surgery. Pregnancy and breast feeding tend to stretch the breasts and reduce some of their volume. These factors may negatively affect the benefits of your surgery, so it is wise to wait until you are done having children to achieve the best results.
How a Breast Lift is Done
breast lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis in our surgical center allowing you to go home the day of your surgery. Prior to surgery, you will be sedated or placed under general anesthesia. Dr. Slenkovich will tailor his approach based on your individual needs, and you will only be left with a lollipop shaped scar pattern that encircles your areolas and then extends vertically to the crease beneath your breasts.
Once the incision has been made, excess skin and fatty tissue is removed. Then your areolas and nipples are repositioned higher to match your lifted breasts. Dr. Slenkovich will then stitch the incision sites and you will be able to go home the same day with light dressings.
